Sustainability is at the heart of Edinburgh Green.

The Younger Building has been retained and refurbished, and whilst Drummond House could not be retained, the new, replacement buildings offer significant opportunities to increase the density and number of potential workers to this well-connected site.

The new buildings will be designed to optimise embodied carbon and support net zero in operation by 2030, through a significant reduction in energy consumption.

The site is already very well served by public transport, with the proposals seeking to support and enhance a sustainable transport approach. As well as ensuring they are fully compliant with the City of Edinburgh Council’s cycle parking standards, the proposals will include:

  • Scotland’s largest EV charging hub, with 125 installed EV charging points, and a further 428 EV enabled parking spaces
  • Car club provision
  • West Edinburgh Mobility Hub
  • Accommodation for bike/hire and E-bike charging
